We started out the second day early with a tour set up by our travel agency. The tour was of historic Paris. We saw a lot of sies mainly of government buildings, museums and churches. (Louvre, Opera House) We also toured the Latin Quarter of Paris which is where a lot of students and artists live.
Once we completed the bus portion of the tour we got out and took a Batobus (boat bus) to the Gothic Cathedral Notre Dame. They started building Notre Dame in the 1100's and it took a 100 years to complete.
After we completed the tour of Notre Dame we were on our own again so... we ate had a Croque Monsieur and a Chocolate Crepe. YUMMY!
We continued thru the gardens of Notre Dame and then took the batobus to the Avenue de Champs Elysees. We walked up and down the Champs Elysees and saw the Arc de Triomphe another huge and amazing sight. We visited Laduree Patissier while we were on the Champs Elysees. The most magnificent pastry shop you've EVER seen. We waited in line for over an hour for these:
This is the book that we used as our guide while we were finding our way thru Paris. Fodors Paris 2008 it was very helpful.
