VineDog Weekend - Three Sisters Winery
A few weeks ago now Fer, Zico and I went up to the Three Sisters Winery for their Vine Dog Weekend Event. It was so much fun to take Zico up there he thoroughly enjoyed it. :) We love Wine, We love the Three Sisters Winery and the scenery there and we love Zico so it was a perfect combination and a really nice outing. Here's a picture of Zico and I preparing for a photo in the winery. Here's some of the beautiful scenery at the Three Sisters Winery.
Working on getting Zico to pose for a picture by himself and practice for the photo he was going to have taken to be put on a wine bottle. See the use of treats... he'll do anything for a treat.
Fer and Zico, such a nice picture with the vineyards behind them.
and TA DA Zico posing for a beautiful photo, I believe he's deep in thought here. :)
He's really enjoying the day.
And here's the final product. You had the choice of putting the wine label on either a white blend or a red blend. We chose red as you can tell. I think the picture came out amazing. We had such a good time that day. The Three Sisters Winery in Dahlonega, GA is a really nice winery to visit. The people are so friendly, the winery is beautiful and the wine is delicious! What else could you ask for?
a close up.
and if you know anything about wine you'll know that Zico's wine fits in just right in between these other two bottles. :)
They are having another event this weekend, we're hoping to make it up there for it. It's the Georgia's Wine Country Festival and it should be a really nice event as well.
Enjoy the weekend and enjoy a glass of vino during it. :)

Backyard Traveler: A Day in Georgia's Wine Country
So... this past weekend a group a friends and I went on a day trip to Georgia's Wine Country which was designed by us to be a tour of some of the wineries in GA and a birthday celebration for Ana and I, both of us turning 30-something. :) I came up with the idea and created the invitation and then the plan was in place.
The plan was to visit 5 wineries and then have dinner at the last one, well the days itinerary changed a little while in progress but it was totally fine and I think even better in the end. It's nice to have a plan but also have the freedom to go with the flow. Here's a picture of the back of the invitation and the winery lineup was as follows:
1. Wolf Mountain Winery
2. Three Sisters Winery
3. Frogtown Winery
4. Blackstock (we actually skipped this one because we spent to much time at the Frogtown Winery but that's fine now there's another one to go back and check out)
5. Montaluce Winery for tasting and dinner
All the wineries were great of course some had better wine than the others but they were all very nicely decorated and the people that worked at all of them were so friendly.
We had the privilege of being served wine by the wine maker himself at the Frogtown Winery, which that part made it really cool.
Here's a picture of the front of the Frogtown Winery.
Here's a picture of the vineyards owned by Frogtown.
inside the winery. They guy behind the counter with the white hair is the owner/wine maker.
We stayed at the Frogtown Winery for a late lunch, because we really were hungry by that point in the day. We had a delicious chili (both white and red bean) served with cornbread and Cesar salad.

Here's a picture from the Montaluce Winery - this one was really beautiful. Please notice that I posted a new photo album along the left hand side of my blog if you're interested in seeing more pictures from the trip.
I think this sign sums up the whole day, the experience and our lives. :)

Snowfall in Atlanta 2010
This past Friday, February 12th Atlanta had a pretty big (for ATL) snow storm. About three inches of snow fell in the course of an afternoon an evening. This winter has been amazing all over the United States this year. This past weekend 49 out of 50 states had some type of snowfall to talk about. It does make for a lot of excitement. It was so nice to get out of work early and come home with the anticipation of running around outside and playing in the snow. Which is exactly what we did, got home - got Zico ready and ran outside to see all that the winter wonderland had to offer. It was beautiful and amazing! The snow was really coming down pretty steady. It's amazing how a place that rarely gets snow can look like this in a few hours.

Lazy Bear Lodge
Back in November the gang and I took a little trip to the mountains of North Georgia to go "camping". We rented a cabin for two nights thru (as you can see) Mountain Getaway Cabin Rentals. It was awesome, even better than I had expected. Our course as you will see from the pictures below we did not rough it at all we had a great time and for only two nights we brought enough food and wine to feed an army for a week. Our cabin was called the Lazy Bear Lodge. So cute and besides us there were a lot of lazy bears in the cabin.

This was definitely one of the most memorable trips I have ever been on... looking forward to the next cabin getaway.

Zico's Second Snowfall
I'm sure the wintry posts are not over yet... Here's the results of our snowfall last week (wonder if there will be another one). This is what we woke up to last Friday morning, I think we should have had a snow day you know so we could shovel out from under the snow...
Here's some pictures from my early morning walk with Zico, see the snow?
this little guy is so cute.

Winter in Hotlanta
Now (as I'm typing this post it's 20 degrees with a wind chill of 8 degrees LOVELY) and this past week "Hot"lanta has been in a deep freeze. We moved here a little over a year ago from Miami so you can imagine we're not used to this insanely crazy cold weather. (my Connecticut roots are long behind me when it comes to weather temperatures) When we moved here people kept warning us about how hot it gets in the summer, granted for the most part I love the weather here, love the change of seasons for sure, but for us I love how we we're warned how warm it gets... hey we can take the warm, it's the cold that is something else. They told us it never snows and never gets below 40 degrees, well it's NOW snowed for the second year in a row since we've been here and it's been under 40 degrees for at least a week and a half. LOL. But it's all good, of course I would really LOVE for it to warm up soon!!! But as long as it's temporary this winter wonderland is bringing lot's of great sights to see and it's not so bad having to stay inside snuggled up with your loved ones.
Of course since I have Mr. Zico Biscuit we have to venture outside no matter what a few times a day and on one of our walks we managed to capture some of this cool photos from our pool area. The pool and the waterfall have frozen and it looks really neat.
